In our classroom we have just a few rules which you can see below. We will be using a behavior chart to help communicate expectations to the children and families. Each child will have a clip on this chart. Children will start each day with their clip on the color green which means Ready to Learn. Their goal is to stay on green the entire day or get moved up the chart to blue (Good Choices) or even pink (Super Student). If they are not following expectations, I will talk with them and, when necessary, move their clip to yellow (Think About It). Some privileges will be taken away. Finally, if the child continues to not meet expectations their clip will be moved to red (Parent Contact). At this time the teacher will notify the parent/guardian as well as the principal, if necessary, and classroom privileges will be taken away.
Rules 1. Be Safe 2. Be Nice 3. Share 4. Listen 5. Try Hard Things 6. Care The first day of kindergarten for our WHAM boys was so much fun! We made rainbow names with torn paper, listened to The Pigeon Has to go to School, and played, played, played. Look below for some pictures of our day. Our first day of Kindergarten was awesome! It was only the 9 girls and we had a blast. They learned how to find important parts of the school like restrooms, the cafeteria, library, office, and of course, the playgrounds. The girls even got to pet a real bunny when we visited the science lab! We read the book The Pigeon Has to go to School by Mo Willems and learned our class rules; 1. Be Safe 2. Be Nice (or nothing) 3. Share 4. Listen 5. Try Hard 6. Care (about the school and world environment) Oh yeah and we played, played, and played some more to get to know our new class family. Take a look at the pictures below to get a peek into our day. |
