Big Thank You to Bethanny McCullough, Genevieve's mom, for taking the time to visit class and teach us some new moves. Did you know she is a real dance teacher? We hope she'll come back soon to help us get our wiggles out and have a ton of fun! Did you know Emperor penguins can be up to 4 feet tall! That's a truly big bird! While learning about penguins we used a life size emperor to see how each of the kids sized up. Huge Thank You to Kanako Seki Lake, Everett's mom for sharing her Japanese heritage with us! Japan was on my bucket list for places to visit but even more so after learning about the culture from Everett and his mom. Kanako came to our class to teach us how to write our name in Japanese. She had each child's name printed out for them to trace and then write on their own. Then she brought big sheets of paper to help us make our own origami hats. You probably saw the other origami papers in your child's folder. Thank You Kanako!
The kids donated food items for the Baton Rouge Food Bank. We talked about sharing what we have with others and what a kind gesture it was that they were sharing their food. To celebrate all the kids were able to wear their favorite team's colors.
Thank you to all the parents who were able to help us paint our t-shirts! We had so much fun painting. The best part was removing the tape to reveal our cute USA flag shirts. |
